I can't use a backpack, so I purchased this case because it has a padded sleeve for my laptop. There is hanging file hardware, and there is a relatively large capacity for bringing home papers and a book or two. I like the wheels and the ease of moving the handle up or down. This is my second purchase. The first one lasted several years and held-up well.

I have this one and a Swiss army one. The Swiss one is far better weighted and keeps its position most of the time, and the handle is better. This one allows me to take my portfolios with me because it is wider therefore more flexibility in some of what I can take to sites. Again it offbalances too easily and that is annoying.

I love this piece of equipment! Perfect for storing all kinds of things.... many pockets, etc. VERY durable too.

I'm returning this product as it likely will not last. It is a very good looking rolling case. I like that it is spacious, and allows me to put all my books and laptop in one compartment without any dividers (other than the one provided for the the laptop. The main problem with the case is that it constantly topples over, even when I don't have most of my books in it. I have to lean it against the wall, or else. The stands underneath seem to be placed too far in from the edge, and it seems to be the reason it falls--uneven distribution of weight. The handle is wobbly, and I worry that at any moment, it will simply detach. It seems that the length of the handle was made for tall individuals (too long). I am almost 5'5", and the very bottom, where the handles nests drags on the ground as I am walking. Consequently, it looks like in another month or so, the metal will be exposed, and the bag will simply will break apart.
The only thing I will miss about this rolling bag is that it is not bulky, and has very nice clean look and sharp shape.
